Ian Ravendale: North East-based national freelance journalist Ian Ravendale began his career in broadcasting and journalism under his real name of Ian Penman in the late 1970's. On one of his very first assignments Ian discovered that his exclusive interview with Paul McCartney hadn't come out due to him and Macca pressing the wrong buttons on the tape recorder. Since then Penman has written hundreds of articles about music, media, travel and other subjects, generally as 'Ian Ravendale' to avoid confusion with another journalist of the same name. Ian has produced or contributed to hundreds of TV and radio shows, written a drama about 1960s pirate radio and directed music and corporate videos and DVDs.
